지난 8월 양재동 엘타워에서 체외진단 의료기기 전문기업 다우바이오메디카에서는 위축성 위염 관리와 신규 건강검진 항목인 위 건강 바이오마커 패널검사를 주제로 전문검진센터 주요인사 대상 세미나를 진행했다. 건강검진의 과반수 이상이 전문검진센터에서 이루어진 것을 반영한 것이다.

세미나에 전문검진기관 주요인사 약 70여명이 참가하여 위통증이 없어 검진을 잘 받지 않는 환자와 검진에서 진단 받은 위축성 위염 환자는 별도의 관리가 이루어지지 않는 점에 대해 의견을 나누었다.

이날 세미나 강사로 나선 이화여대 건강증진센터 송혜경 센터장과 춘천 성심 소화기내과 과장 백광호 교수는 내시경 검사는 미리 발생한 위암을 발견하는 표준검사이지만, 위암이 주로 40대 이상에서 발생하고 사망률도 고령환자에서 높게 나타나는 것으로 보아 40세 미만 젊은 환자는 혈청학적 바이오마커 패널 검사를 고려할 만하다고 말했다.

This reflects that more than half of the health examinations were conducted at specialized examination centers.

About 70 key figures from specialized screening institutions participated in the seminar and discussed the fact that patients who do not receive checkups because they do not have stomach pain and patients with atrophic gastritis diagnosed at the examination are not managed separately.

Song Hye-kyung, director of the Ewah, Womans University Health Promotion Center, and Baek Kwang-ho, director of Chuncheon Sungsim Gastroenterology Department, said, "Endoscopy is a standard test for detecting pre-occurring gastric cancer, but young patients under the age of 40 deserve a serological biomarker panel test, as gastric cancer occurs mainly in those in their 40s and older and the mortality rate is high in elderly patients."
